DNLink Extension — Privacy Policy

What DNLink Does

DNLink is a Chrome extension for dental labs using DentNode. It auto-refreshes portal pages and securely forwards XHR/fetch network payloads from lab portal websites (currently 3Shape Communicate) to the lab's own DentNode server for case intake automation.

Data Collected

DNLink only captures network request and response data on pages the user explicitly opens on the following domains:

• 3shapecommunicate.com — dental case portal traffic

This includes:

• URLs, HTTP methods, request headers, and request bodies of XHR/fetch calls made by the portal page
• Response status codes, response headers, and response bodies of those calls
• Authentication tokens (Bearer tokens) present in intercepted requests — used solely for API actions the lab explicitly performs through DentNode's QA review interface

The captured data is sent only to the lab's own DentNode server at app.dentnode.com (or a local development server). No data is sent to any third party, analytics service, or DentNode-controlled cloud.

Data NOT Collected

• No browsing history is recorded or transmitted
• No keystrokes, form inputs, or passwords are captured
• No data from pages outside the listed domains is intercepted
• No cookies are read or stored by the extension

Permissions Explained

• storage — saves user preferences (refresh interval, webhook URL) locally in Chrome
• activeTab — needed to inject content scripts on portal pages the user navigates to
• tabs — enables the auto-refresh feature on active portal tabs
• cookies — allows the extension to attach session cookies to webhook requests so the DentNode server can authenticate the lab

Data Storage & Retention

All captured network data is ephemeral — it is forwarded to the lab's DentNode server and discarded immediately. No network payloads are stored locally by the extension. User preferences (refresh interval, webhook URL) are stored locally in Chrome's extension storage.

Third-Party Sharing

DNLink does not share, sell, or transmit any data to third parties. The extension only communicates with the DentNode server belonging to the lab that installed it.
